Minister of International Cooperation immerses himself in the progress of the Inga 3 project
According to the source, during these exchanges, the Head of State’s Missions Officer reviewed the vision, objectives, strategies and modes of execution of the said project which intends to double the access rate of the Congolese population to electricity and guarantee the supply of electrical energy in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This project, he added, also wants to make the DRC an energy and environmental power capable of providing all Congolese and industry with reliable and cheap energy.
For the Minister of International Cooperation, the “Grand Inga 3” project is a symbol of Congolese industrialization which will consolidate cooperation and trade between the DRC and SADC member countries.
To believe, the Vice-Minister of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity, “Grand Inga3” will not only guarantee the supply of electricity in the DRC, but also it will increase State revenues and develop ‘other sectors.
As a reminder, the Inga III dam is a hydroelectric dam project on the Congo River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is established on the site of the Inga Falls in the province of Bas-Congo, about thirty kilometers north of the city of Matadi. Two dams, Inga I and Inga II already exist on the site. Inga 3 is the first of the six phases of the Grand Inga.
